To help you understand your investment in career training, IMBC has special financial aid staff that can assist you in navigating the world of loans, Federal Student Aid (for those who qualify), grants and military benefits. IMBC also offers to qualified students a payment plan with 0% interest. IMBC believes that there is an Affordability Plan for all students. Each day, IMBC’s Financial Aid Department specializes in assisting prospective students with a Financial Aid plan. For those students who work with Pennsylvania’s special programs through PHEAA, the point of contact for the Fostering Independence Tuition Waiver program is Philip Book.
Academic success is taken seriously at IMBC. Tutoring services are available for all students as no additional cost (it’s covered as part of your tuition.) Students studying at one of our campuses are eligible for in-person one-on-one and group session tutoring. Online students are eligible for one-on-one and group phone/web-based tutoring. For online students, you can receive academic support via the phone, email, or over a live web-conference call where you and a staff member share computer screens in real-time. We encourage students to take advantage of tutoring to seek help early, before challenges begin, especially for a difficult course. The online classroom also has additional resources for students who choose to study at IMBC online. You can browse course materials, presentations, videos and more; as well as interact with your instructor by sending an email or participating in a discussion board.
Students at IMBC have unlimited access to thousands of reference materials, including journal articles, ebooks, and audio/visual clips as part of their program. Whether you’re studying on campus or online, you’ll always have access to the online library to help you with your coursework.
All students have access to complimentary Wi-Fi on campus. Online students are required to have a reliable connection to the internet in order to enroll. If you do not have a reliable connection, please alert the academics team prior to enrollment so they can review your available options.
Our staff understands that sometimes life throws out challenges that are not related to our schoolwork. Be it childcare, transportation, employment, personal finance, physical or mental health, family life and more, IMBC provides general non-professional support services to help connect our students to the resources they need to overcome life’s obstacles outside the classroom. Students studying on campus can meet privately for one-on-one discussions and students studying online are encouraged to call their instructors for assistance.
Students enrolled at IMBC are encouraged to sit for the nationally recognized professional certification examinations in their career training programs. Attaining your professional certification demonstrates mastery of skills to potential employers (and therefore improving your employability.) IMBC believes students passing certification exams have a more competitive employment advantage over students without certifications.
At our two ground campuses (Erie, PA and Pittsburgh, PA), IMBC will cover the costs of approved licensure exams for students that meet specific requirements depending on the career training program. Please see individual program descriptions for details and review the school catalog for additional details and requirements.
Depending upon your program of study, you will work with a member of our IMBC Career Services Department to participate in an internship or job shadowing.
