At IMBC, students have the opportunity to train at one of our two physical campuses (Erie, PA and Pittsburgh, PA) or online from the convenience of their home. Regardless of where you train with IMBC, you’ll receive the same professional and caring instruction that thousands of students have trusted for more than 20 years.
Campus Training
Students at our two Pennsylvania-based campuses choose from a wide variety of training programs, including several allied healthcare programs, welding, pharmacy tech, veterinary tech, business, and more. Additionally, you’ll attend class four days a week (Monday through Thursday), with Fridays off.
Online Training
Students that are outside of the Erie and Pittsburgh areas can study 100% online with IMBC from the convenience of almost anywhere, if you have a computer and reliable internet connection. Many students choose a 100% online program for a flexible schedule to balance family life, a job, and other priorities. You can complete your work early in the morning, during the day or even late at night. Online students also can save money on transportation because they don’t have to drive to a campus to attend class. For these reasons and more, many students are choosing to earn their degrees and diplomas online from IMBC.
Courses
Campus and online courses are six-weeks long and the student-to-instructors ratio is always 25:1 or better. This means that you will receive personalized, hands-on instruction from your instructors, have access to tutoring if needed, and you will engage with your classmates.
Online Library 24/7 for All Students
Students at IMBC have unlimited access to thousands of reference materials, including journal articles, ebooks, and audio/visual clips as part of their program. Whether you’re studying on campus or online, you’ll always have access to the online library to help you with your coursework.
Orientation
All new students at IMBC attend an orientation session to ensure they are fully prepared for success in their classes. Campus-based students will attend orientation either at the Erie or Pittsburgh campus prior to the first day of class. Online students will complete a facilitated online orientation course prior to starting their first online course. Whether you are a campus student or online student, IMBC will make sure you are prepared for success and all your questions are addressed.
Laptop Program
Both campus and online students are eligible to purchase or finance a new laptop that meets the technical requirements of their respective training program, directly through IMBC. For more information, please speak with your financial aid advisor.
Honor Roll
Students at IMBC who complete an academic term with a grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher (out of 4.0) will be eligible for the Dean’s List and will be recognized with an official school certificate of achievement. Students at the Erie and Pittsburgh campuses are also eligible for the Perfect Attendance and Classroom Competency achievements. Campus-based students may also be recognized at a student recognition ceremony held approximately every six weeks. Online students are eligible for the Dean’s List.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to attend online classes at a certain time?
No, you may complete your assignments and participate in class discussions on your own schedule. Each week you will be given a time frame to complete your assignments. As long as you complete your work by the due date, it does not matter if you complete your work and submit it early in the morning, during the day, or late at night. However, regular attendance is required by logging into the online classroom and completing various tasks.
How do I get help if I’m an online student?
It’s easy to get help as an online student, just contact your instructor through the online classroom. Or, you can call student services for assistance on issues outside of your coursework, such as financial aid, details about your program, graduation, and more.
What are discussion board assignments?
Online students will be required to complete discussion board assignments. This requires logging into the online classroom, navigating to the class discussion area, and participating by posting your comments, replying to peer’s posts, and participating in the learning community.
